Hello Fellow Deep Divers!
We’re closing in on the 7/1/2026 registration deadline for our reunion at Foxwoods in Connecticut – but we need your help NOW! Registration numbers for the September event are less than we expected at this point in time. It’s possible that some of you have been waiting to make your hotel reservations and send in your registration forms. If you’re one of those people, we need to hear from you by June 1st. It’s essential that we get an accurate estimate of how many of you will be able to attend. You don’t need to pay until July 1st – but we need you to sound off to us IMMEDIATELY. We think there are more of you out there!
Again, you don’t need to pay early - just let us know if you’re definitely coming and how many of you there are. Please contact us NOW (no later than 6/1/2026) by one of the following methods:
Email: reunioncoordinator@deepsubmergencegrp.org
Call/Text: (206)963-1808
We know there are some unanticipated financial headwinds right now – if you would like to attend but may not have the registration fee by July 1st, just let us know. We can definitely work something out to ensure you join the fun!
On the fence still? Consider these two points:
1. The harsh reality is that deep submergence veterans are a small community that is graying fast. THIS is the time to see those shipmates we were so close to in our units and to meet the other fascinating and fun folks who dove deep as well. There is no guarantee that we’ll be able to do this again in two years.
2. We’re at a world class venue this year that has its own offerings of dining, shopping, gambling, and other activities – all in addition to the events we’ve planned:
a. A Welcome Aboard soiree at the legendary USSVI Groton Base Joe Negri Clubhouse.
b. Tours of the upper and lower Sub Base, a 688 or Virginia Class SSN (95% chance), and two of these three SubScol trainers - DC, Fire, or Escape.
c. A memorial service for our own departed deep submergence shipmates on the afterdeck of the Historic Ship Nautilus followed by a tour of that boat and a chance to visit the Submarine Force Library and Museum.
d. A banquet featuring a presentation on one of our boats and two principal speakers, Dick Taylor and Marty Klein, who have incredibly interesting backgrounds and stories, as well as raffles and the opportunity to shape future DSGA activities.
It’s going to be a blast and we want as many of our shipmates there as possible. Here’s to hearing from you very soon!
